GHANA JUNIOR TEAM TRIUMPHS OVER TOGO

The National U-16 Chess Team showed expertise and determination when they came from behind to

beat their Togolese counterparts 3-2 in a 5 round friendly match encounter on 13th August at the Accra

Sports Stadium.

Team Ghana comprised of Naren Varyani, Kojo Adu-Gyamfi, Emmanuel Amoah, Audrey Ayiku, Eugenia

Quarshie, Nana Owusu Mensah, Emmanuel Bedzrah and Seyram Akpatsa whilst the Togolese team

comprised of Tegan Patrick, Agbo Christelle, Gnassounou Sonia, Tini Jenifer and Sandji Manuella

Players of the match were Nana Owusu Mensah and Agbo Christelle both finishing with 3.5 game points

According to Mr. Ameku, the GCA vice president, the match is aimed at keeping the juniors in shape

towards both the National Championships and the Zonal Championships which will take place in

November and December respectively.
