The Reliable Ghanaian Chess Youngsters anxious to make a statement in Panama

The young and reliable Ghanaian chess talents: Mawuli Richardson (13), Mawutor Richardson (11), Dave Chief Quansah Acheampong (9) and Jeshurun Obiri Yeboah Pryce-Tandoh (7) ready to take on the world in the 2022 World School Individual Chess Championships which will be held from June 10-19, 2022 at the Wyndham Panama Albrook Mall Hotel & Convention Center in Panama City, Panama under the auspices of FIDE and the Panama Chess Federation.

These Wunderkinds earned a spot at the world event following their phenomenal performance at the African Individual School Championship which was held in Kenya late last year.  Mawuli, Dave and Jeshurun won gold in the U-13, U-9 and U-7 categories respectively while Mawutor finished in the top five of the U-11 category. Accompanying the young talents as part of the Ghanaian delegation are Mrs. Regina Richardson and Reverend Charles Tandoh.

There will be over 450 children from 36 countries playing in 12 sections in the tournament, Open and Girls for each age category: Under 17, Under 15, Under 13, Under 11, Under 9 and Under 7. Other African countries fielding players include Kenya, Malawi, Uganda and South Africa.
